America's Midwest Gets First Green Tower
The Roberts Tower in St Louis, Missouri will be the first high-rise building to be awarded a Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy Efficient Design) Certification by the US Green Building Council.
The tower will be constructed with environmentally responsible and sustainable materials and designed to make significant energy savings of 50-70%. It will even have its own recycling program and feature energy efficient appliances.
According to the Towers website: "Roberts Tower will combine living well for yourself with living well for others. Its technological innovation will sharpen the cutting edge, ensuring your home will be smarter in the most imaginative ways. Come 2009, Roberts Tower will truly be living above it all."

great project for elevating the discussion of high-rise design in the mid-west...... Bucharest could use a few green towers, beside all of the non-green towers, as well.
