Al Gore invites you to sign the Live Earth pledge

al%20gore%20pledge.jpgNow that Princes William and Harry have vacated Wembley, preparations are underway for next weekend's Live Earth concert for the planet.

While 40% of us claim to be behind the concert, others think we don't need endorsement from rock stars to tell us that the environment needs our help. But the action doesn't end there, and to show their commitment to helping us adopt greener habits, organisers Al Gore and Kevin Wall are inviting people everywhere to join the Live Earth pledge to fight global warming. Once you sign up, you are asked to commit to one of six actions, such as switching to energy saving lightbulbs or shutting off electrical equipment when you're not using it. You'll also have the honour of seeing your name appear on screen at Live Earth on Saturday.

I commented on the Live Earth Pledge on my site that covers global warming, Is It Getting Warmer? (www.globalwarming-factorfiction.com).  You can read my full comments there but, in short, I think it is slightly foolish to make a pledge that is nearly impossible to carry out. 90% reduction of carbon footprint on a national scale is almost ludicrous and would cause extreme hardship on any nation, probably causing millions of lives globally.
