Xbox 360 global-warming game challenge

If you think that sitting behind your TV playing computer games will do nothing for the environment, think again! Invent an eco computer game and be the next generation gaming apprentice for Microsoft. Xbox 360 has teamed up with Games for Change, setting a challenge for university students to design a game based on global warming. The competition was announced yesterday at the Games for Change Festival. The company provides resources and support for organisations and individuals who use digital games for social change. The so-called Xbox 360(TM) Games for Change Challenge is due to start this summer.

Competitors from over 100 countries will battle to invent the best game idea. Apart from a cash prize, winners will be invited to present their idea to Microsoft’s game management team for possible inclusion in Xbox Live - where gamers can buy and play games with anyone worldwide by connecting the Xbox 360 to a broadband connection. Topping all of this is the 1st prize - an apprenticeship at Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business as part of its internship program.
