We Are What We Do wants a plastic bag free Christmas
Not for profit group We Are What We Do are campaigning for a bag free Christmas and are urging shops not to hand out plastic bags unless absolutely necessary. Consumers, in turn, are being urged towards using eco-friendly bags. Whilst major retailers Virgin and Dermalogica beauty salons have already signed up for the scheme, I can't help but think that most retailers will shy away from losing free advertising as shoppers carry their bags up and down the length of the land.
However, if We Are What We Do sign up a few designers for another Anya Hindmarch style bag frenzy, they might just pull off a plastic bag free Christmas as the hordes clamour for cheap designer reusable bags instead [via BBC].
