Rescued paper pads from Sukie
This hardcore recycling only for the real eco-warriors among us who can hack it. These notebooks and pads are made entirely from discarded paper collected and assembled by hand in India. They don’t bleach them, reconstitute them, reprocess them – the used paper is folded and bound in a direct form of recycling which enables the owner to write on the reverse of the printed pages. The books come in three sizes and a variety of colours from Sukie.

Sukie is a fascinating company. Their website reminiscently tracks the history of Darrell and Julia, who set up Sukie after Darrell graduated from the Royal College of Art and Julia left her job at House of Fraser. Sukie have been commissioned by Habitat, Paperchase and DKNY among others to produce a range of notebooks, so whilst their website is humble, they’ve done extremely well.
Prices for the notebooks are: Small £ 5.50, Medium £ 7.50 and Large £ 9.95.
