Rebuilding New Orleans the Green Way

Brad_Pam_ThomNewOrleans.jpg
When hurricane Katrina devastated the city of New Orleans in 2005 rebuilding the city and rehousing the homeless was an urgent priority. Global Green USA decided that out of the ruins of New Orleans a new greener city could be built.

With this in mind they have committed to rebuilding New Orleans in an eco-friendly, energy efficient way.

If the 50,000 homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina were rebuilt according to Global Green's eco-friendly specifications its estimated that residents would save a massive $38 million to $56 million each year. The carbon reduction would be roughly equivalent to removing 100,000 cars from America's roads.

They hope to turn the ravaged city into a poster child for sustainable living in the 21st Century.
