Carbon calculator for mobile phones
Hot on the trail of the government’s online carbon calculator comes climate:mobile. This is a nifty little piece of software for mobile phones developed for the C-Change Project that will work out your carbon footprint for you. The Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) is launching the carbon calculator for mobile phones at Glastonbury. A team of staff and volunteers are giving away copies of the climate calculator to over 170,00 festival goers at the moment using Bluetooth. If you’re not at Glastonbury and you want a copy of climate:mobile you can text ‘climate’ to 80010 to download it straight onto your mobile phone. This is really innovative idea that will bring the climate change message to many more people, especially younger people and empower them to make positive changes in lifestyle. We need more of these forward thinking schemes to make more people aware of their responsibility in the fight against global warming. Rising global temperature is something that affects us all, if not right now, it will in the near future.
