World Fair Trade Day

World Fair Trade Day is being celebrated on Saturday 12th May. Events will be taking place worldwide. International Fair Trade Association (IFAT) member organisations located in 70 countries, plus Fair Trade shops and networks will be hosting special events to promote Fair Trade, such as: fashion shows, talks, music concerts and more. The theme for 2007 is “Kids and Fair Trade.”
Fair Trade exists to alter economic and social structures and help marginalised people to escape poverty. If adults are paid a decent wage for their work, they are able to send their children to school, rather than the children having to work to provide for their families.
You can join World Fair Trade Day by holding you own event.
Take a look at People Tree’s website. As an IFAT member and in aid of World Trade Day, People Tree are offering 70% off certain Fair Trade Organic tees ordered before Saturday 12th May.
