Win a holiday with the responsible tourism awards
If you find yourself in need of a holiday but short of cash (or time), it can be easier to book a cheap flight and hotel than to consider the costs - to the local economy as well as environment - of your holiday.
The responsible tourism awards, run by the Times and Responsible Travel, are hoping to change that by publicising the breadth of responsible holidays on offer. And by nominating a winner you can be entered into a prize draw to win a holiday of your own.
You can nominate any travel company or tourism project that encourages responsible tourism. There are 13 categories of award, covering everything from low-carbon holidays to those that promote cultural heritage.
Once you nominate an organisation you'll be entered into a prize draw to win one of two holidays - a 14-day tour of Uganda, or an action-holiday tour of Nepal for 19 days. And even if you don't win, it's likely you'll see something that catches your eye just while you're checking out the website...
To nominate an organisation that's impressed you, and to see the full details and rules, download a form from the Times online.
