Uniqlo's clothes recycling scheme for refugees

uniqlo.jpg
Clothing retailer Uniqlo has come up with a great way for customers to indulge in 'fast fashion' without generating waste and helping others at the same time. The Japanese-owned chain, famed for its pared-down, affordable basics has announced that it is to start a programme whereby castoff clothes can be brought back into the stores to be donated to refugee camps where clothing is scarce.

Clothing items deemed unwearable, meanwhile, will be recycled for use as insulation, or even fuel. Unfortunately, the chain will only accept its own garments, but I'd like to know how they'll tell the difference, as the unbranded clothing is famously plain!
