Square Pie in the eco-circle

Pies.jpg

Here's some good news for comfort-food lovers who enjoy a square meal: Square Pies are making their debut on Sainsbury’s shelves in biodegradable packaging. The gourmet pie company are addressing the massive environmental problem of landfill sites overflowing with indestructible plastic packaging, boxes and bottles. They’re also a square meal, using hand-diced British meat and fresh vegetables, whilst also steering clear of artificial additives, E-numbers, preservatives and hydrogenated vegetable oils. If you’re not a vegetarian, Square Pies are a great way to cut down on buying overpacked goods, and support a company who is making a good environmental step. Remember that it’s what we buy or choose not to buy that ultimately dictates what companies put on our supermarket shelves.
