Game on! This chair is made from old Playstations

playsation%20chair.jpgIf you thought it was 'game over' for consoles that have been cast aside by their fickle young owners in favour or the latest gadget-fad, think again; these chairs are made from recycled PS2 casings, and are a brilliant example of the clever re-use tech waste.

The 'Reese' chairs, which will be available to buy from September, are a collaboration between PLI and Sprout design. They've deliberately made it suitable for disassembly and further recycling, and the modular design means it's also easily repaired or refurbished. And according to the makers, every chair diverts 2.3kg of used plastic from landfill.

The chairs can be pre-ordered on the PLI website, to be delivered in September. But if your buttocks just can't wait that long, they'll also be on display at the Metropolitan Works Show until 24th May, and the Eden Project thereafter.
