Plain Fairtrade tees for men by Ralper

Ralpertees.jpgMy partner and I were chatting with the PR manager for an ethical clothing retailer the other day and my partner pointed out that whilst ethical fashion for women has come on in leaps and bounds, men seem to have drawn the short straw. Having done a bit of research, I have to agree with him.

One thing I have noticed is that it is difficult to find men’s T-shirts that don’t have some kind of eco-slogan emblazoned across the front. Having principles is one thing but constantly ramming them in people’s faces 24 hours a day, is quite another.

Bearing that in mind, I have managed to source some 100% organic cotton T-shirts for men, by Ralper, that are quite simply, plain. It might seem boring, but we all need plain clothes sometimes. They also offer T-shirts with some tasteful and unobtrusive designs and tees for women.

It’s a good start, but I think that ethical designers need to create some more stylish gear for men. After all, how hard can it be to whip up a shirt and a pair of well tailored trousers? Give me some paper, a pen, organic material and a sewing machine and I’ll soon knock up something stylish and ethical.
