Get on your bike for bike week: 16-24 June

bike%20week.jpgYes, another 'week' is coming, and this one is one of the few worthy of mention, in that its purpose is to remind us to do something good for the environment that's good for our poor office-bound bodies as well: cycling.

On 16-24 June, bike week aims to get an estimated 250,000 of us on our bikes and relying on pedal power for a whole week.

If you've been out of the saddle for a while but want to take up the challenge, there are already some ‘warm up’ events taking place, including cycling skills training and ‘Dr Bike’ free cycle safety checks. Most events are free to enter, but sme are held to raise funds, including for Bike Week’s national charity partner Leukaemia Research. Others are for existing cyclists who want to try riding further or faster. You can find warmup events in your area on the site's handy postcode finder.
