'Foho': What hippy fashion did next
Ethical clothing, slow fashion. eco-chic...so many names for one simple concept. But now the celeb world has cottoned on to the idea of making fashion sustainable, a whole new style has started to emerge, known as 'Foho', popular with stars like Sienna Miller and Kate Moss. Foho is a sort of fusion between traditional 'boho' and a more 70s folk look with lots of floaty material and crochet going on. And inevitably, it seems that this currently-hip 'look' is being lumped in with sustainable fashion, presumably due to its hippy origins.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. One of the good things about ethical fashion going mainstream is that it now doesn't have to refer to a particular style, and much as I like the boho look, we all know it won't be around forever. I've even heard people say 'I'm sick of fairtrade already', as though it all has to look the same. Now, much as I adore the current folksy flavour in clothes, and the fact that I can get them in organic cotton is great, let's not confuse substance with style.
