Cocodirect Fairtrade hot chocolate – that’s just so good!

cocodirect.jpg

Who says that women have a monopoly on chocolate? I’m a bloke, and I can prove it because I blogged about beer yesterday, but sometimes a man wants to curl up with fluffy slippers on and drink a hot chocolate on the couch (what?.. well I might as well admit to it since, chances are, I'm not going to meet any of you people anyway). So, I found this little product on the market, Fairtrade cocoa from Cafédirect. Now that is brilliant. The same company that brought us Fairtrade coffee, and then thought… der…why don’t we just do that with tea too, have sorted our caffeine-free friend the cocoa bean, neatly ground, mixed with sugar from Latin America, Africa and the Caribbean and Bob’s your fluffy slipper wearing, sofa curling, luxury chocolate drinking uncle.

With 40% cocoa solids, one of the highest cocoa contents on the market, there are also no hydrogenated vegetable oils in it either. Plus the real point here is that, like all their other products, Cocodirect is certified by the Fairtrade Foundation for paying a fair price to growers. Impressively, Cafédirect go beyond the Fairtrade criteria with their own pricing structure which ensures farmers have stability if the world market fluctuates, and they even put money aside to provide them with management and marketing support. Available in supermarkets or buy it online.
