No complicated folding, no safety-pins and no rubbish mountains. Non-disposable nappies have come a long way since that funny character with the cigar from Roger Rabbit - even a dopy dad can use them. The facts are that eight million disposables are used every day, making up 4% of all household rubbish. Campaigners say disposables create 60 times more solid waste than washable nappies. They also use 3.5 times more energy and eight times more non-renewable resources, and the "birth-to-potty" cost to parents is about £1,000, compared to £400 for cotton and other non-disposable nappies. So here’s a good place to buy organic and ethical real nappies.
