Non electric Wonderwash mini washer and dryer

wonderwash.JPGCutting down on your electricty and water consumption? How about going 'old school' with non-electric mini washers and dryers? The mini machines sit on your countertop, are portable (the US army uses them in Iraq and Afghanistan), use 90% less water than a conventional machine and in the case of the spin dryer, cuts a household energy usage by 5-10%.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THE LAUNDRY ALTERNATIVE INC. This is the absolute worst company to purchase items online from. They have awful customer service representatives who are so rude and unhelpful. I simply emailed them to ask them how long my order would take to arrive, and I was called difficult and unfriendly. I'm not sure what I did wrong… it was just a question. The wonderwash doesn't do much more than what you could do in a bucket or in the sink, and it is just as much work. The spin dryer really doesn't cut down on drying time enough to spend $150 on it. Also, this company has no interest whatsoever in being environmentally friendly. They are simply trying to make money by overcharging for very simple items. Please research the company before doing business with them. MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND WORSE.

WONDER WASH IS GREAT- LAUNDRY-ALTERNATIVE.COM IS NOT!!!

I got a Wonder Wash from my sister a few years ago because we take long trips on our sailboat. It is wonderful! I have found that I also make very good use of it at home for small loads, and I love knowing that it is earth-friendly.

***However, I recently tried to order one for my in-laws as a Christmas gift, and aside from the initial confirmation that my order was received (nearly 2 weeks ago), I have had no further correspondence from laundry-alternative.com. I have contacted them via email twice and telephone twice, and still nothing. I see a review here stating that the customer service people are awful, but I can't even get a reply from them at all (even to be called difficult or unfriendly!). Can anyone tell me anything about this site/company?

Is there anyplace else where I can order this item & still possibly have it in time for Christmas???

Hey all,

I just began searching. I'm single and live alone in a cabin. The electricity is already strained and I don't want to add to it's quirks. I just thouht of Manual Washers on the way home from work today. I think it's a great idea! But, I was wondering... does anyone know if there are any other kinds of non-electric/hand operated so to speak clothes washers out there? And, perhaps you know what sites I could go to?
