Join the eco-radio revolution with Passion For The Planet
Instead of listening to the usual rubbish on the radio, why not check out Passion For The Planet, which discusses the planet’s biggest issues and best tunes without being too hippy dippy.
Free from chanting, mantras and crystal bowl thingies, you can listen to music from the likes of The Eels, Bjork and the Mock Turtles or ponder on features about health, the environment and alternative solutions for the planet.
Passion For The Planet was set up with the aim of introducing, a newfangled format to the growing Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) Digital Radio market. DAB Digital Radio signals are more efficient than analogue signals, prevent interference and allow broadcasters to transmit more varied programmes and services.
Green to its roots, Passion For The Planet’s passion for the environment extends to their own ‘green’ office, which was built and decorated partly by using recycled or re-used materials. They also make use of low energy light bulbs, print the company stationery on recycled paper and the studios are soundproofed with naturally produced hemp.
If you are looking for a greener listening experience than the regular radio station offerings, give these guys a try. You can either: listen online, get yourself a DAB Digital Radio or get a hi-fi tuner, which connects to your existing hi-fi.
My boyfriend thinks DAB Digital Radio is a waste of time because he would rather listen to a CD and doesn’t see why you would need CD quality radio interviews, but I quite like the new eco-radio concept. Have a listen and see what you think.
