Congratulations Charlotte. And now, some tips...

baby.jpgCharlotte Church - the Welsh starlet who sang like an angel before shedding her cherubic credentials to spend the next few years falling over in nightclubs - has announced she's pregnant. Our friends at Catwalk Queen have already stepped in to offer maternity wardrobe advice, but now Charl's days of debauchery are behind her, she'll no doubt soon be heading to the hills of Snowdonia to raise the little one in jam-making domestic bliss. So we've decided to do our bit and give her a few tips: the (very abridged) Hippyshopper guide to parenting!

First off: Nappies. Now I'm sure nothing fills a new parent with as much dread as the mention of 'eco-friendly nappies'. If changing wasn't enough of a chore already, do you really want to be washing terry cloths every day for the next couple of years? Well, fortunately that's no longer necessary, as there's a much wider choice of eco-friendly disposables on offer. The best online selection is at the Naturebotts site, where you can buy bamboo nappies, Moltex disposable eco nappies and more. You can even buy some of these in Tesco!
For junior wardrobes, there's loads to choose from. Green Baby offer all the basics, including sleep suits, vests, bibs and hats. All are made from natural, unbleached organic cotton. A particularly funky range of fairtrade babys' and kids' is also available at Cheekaboo, which even includes uber-trendy animal print.

There's also an abundance of organic baby food out there. One of our favourites is award-winning So Baby Organic, which not only contains all-natural, additive-free ingredients, it's also designed to educate your baby's palate, with imaginative recipes like Moroccan Lamb with Cous Cous and Risotto with Butternut Squash. Yum...
