Fairtrade Fortnight: Tam & Rob launch new range
Tam & Rob are a funky, London-based design duo who make clothes for people who want to buy fairtrade, but don't go in for baggy hemp jumpers and tie-dyed XXL pantaloons - which always comes as a relief, don't you find?
To celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight, they've offered us a sneak preview of their Spring/Summer 07 range, available to buy shortly. The nine piece capsule collection is priced between £15 and £110 and includes a jersey top that takes its cue from Spring’s volume trend and is available in white or blue at £40. For retro fans there's also a '40s influenced wrap dress at £85, made entirely from hand woven organic cotton. All items are made under accredited fairtrade conditions in India and Nepal.

Founder and designer Lucy Tammam, a St. Martin's graduate, believes passionately in making fairtrade clothing that's stylish and up-to-date. Of the new, trend-led collection she said: “[the] collection dramatically raises the design standards of ethical clothing. Current trends and British design influences are married with high ethical and environmental standards. The collection features low waisted dresses reminiscent of The Great Gatsby and 1930s carefree flapper styles, and fashionable high waisted trousers and fitted jackets inspired by the tailoring in Brief Encounter.”

Wow - this is awesome! Finally, ethical clothes that also look great!
