Over 9 in 10 Brits resolve to be greener in 2007

Pesticides_free_sign

Where New Year's resolutions usually involve trimming weight, this is the first year they've so overwhelmingly involved trimming carbon emissions weight. 93% of Britons are going on a carbon reduction diet in 2007, with a majority of very sensible plans. 2/3rds promise to shut off appliances rather than leave them on standby - and also to recycle more; over half plan to give to charity rather than giving potentially unwanted gifts; over a third are going to leave the car home and walk. Best of all, over one in ten plan to get out and help with green initiatives in their own communities. [GT]
