Apparently a third of our household drinking water is flushed down the loo each day.
Save the Rain is raising awareness of Rainwater Harvesting so that we can reduce demand on the UK's mains water.
If you install a Rainwater Harvesting system, you can save up to 50% of your mains water usage by collecting rain from the roof and recycling it for use in flushing toilets - and you'll save money on your water bills, too. Which sounds like a win-win kind of a plan to me.
More water saving.

Great to hear about the WWF Save the Rain Campaign. It sounds so simple .. yet for years here in Australia, one of the driest continents.. our governments have made people remove their tanks (because of perceived health risks) and pay for piped treated water in our cities. Now with climate change, they can't supply the water and are planning to build more dams and flood prime agriculural land, displace thousands of people and destroy our rivers. We need your help to spread the word and send messages to our politicians that there are smarter alternatives - reduce, recycle and rainwater tanks ...for more info see www.savethemaryriver.com
