Apparently if you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path away from the inferior mousetrap's door. Such was demonstrated in Tavistock, Devon, where a McDonald's closed its doors because it couldn't compete with the local fare. Tavistock's pulled a ton of awards for its top-drawer fodder so it's not surprising - but what is surprising is that it happened by accident since nobody ever thought of it. Provide better food and people will choose it over the worse! What a concept! [GT]
