Last time I needed a 9 volt battery, I had the option of paying about £1 for two or £1.50 for a dozen. Result: eleven 9 volt batteries lying around the junk drawer. It would be lovely to convert them into sleek bricks of white light with the Richard Lawson 9 Vo(l)tive, which seems to still be in the design stage (though you can contact Lawson at richl[at]forpeople[dot]co[dot]uk). Until then, you may have to settle for the Pak Lite flashlight. GT]
