The holy war on bottled water

Waterbottlegerman

In Canada, from whence I hail (shame on youse who assumed I was a Yankee), church groups have stopped selling bottled water because they say water is a sacrament, and to sell a sacrament is to go against God.  "We are starting to make the church building a bottled-water-free zone," said Sandi Evans at the First United Church in Kelowna.  The St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ottawa used to sell bottled water at its fundraising events, but stopped this year.  On top of that: last month, the United Church passed a motion urging its nearly one million Canadian adherents to leave bottled water on the store shelves, unless alternative sources of safe water aren't available.  And on top of that, there are over a hundred comments on the piece debating the religious aspect versus the commercial.  Personally, I fill my Guyot bottle with filtered water. What do you do for water on the road? Post in comments, please. [GT]
