Arbor Vetum reclaimed teak furniture
Teak presents certain ethical issues, if one wants to be sure one isn't getting wood harvested under questionable conditions. The best solution is with reclaimed wood, such as is offered by Arbor Vetum. Every stick they use is certified FSC. Products range from chaises and two or three seat sofas for indoor use (going around £1000 to around £3000) to tables and chairs for outdoor use starting at £650. The teak timbers used are ancient and incredibly durable, as well as having a classical colour that'll go with any decor. [GT]

We purchased an Eclipse 180cm round table, 8 Eclipse chairs, 2 easy chairs, coffee table, lazy susan all from Arbor Vetum. Months later the goods arrived - terrible quality, splits appeared in weeks. Company replaced the entire set in Jan 07, new set arrived and again splits have appeared. Got a full refund after threats of legal action and the stuff is still in our back garden rotting as they can't be bothered to pick it up. Avoid at all costs - there is better quality furniture at this price or less from better suppliers. Can't believe this company will be around for much longer so if you are foolish enough to go ahead - don't pay a big deposit.
