NatureWorks Ingeo: fashion attire made from... sugar?

Elieffenberger_marialuisa

Mention that supermodels in sugar dresses are strolling the catwalks and you'll get one reaction. Mention that the sugar is actually a stable polymer cloth with the heft and drape of natural fiber and you'll get another. The fiber is Ingeo, a derivative of corn that is man-made, yet 100% plant-based. It has the performance of polyester (well, okay, one must admit polyester has uses somewhere) and the loft of rayon while being utilitarian and made from either renewable resources or even waste products. And they just finished up their own Earth Month at Ingeo, so drop by and see what they got up to. [GT]
