Permanent reusable filter for Senseo coffeemaker

E2_6

The money's always been in accessories.  They used to sell typewriters cheaply to hook you on expensive ribbons (now, in North America anyhow, they sell Lexmark printers at such a huge discount that it's cheaper to buy a whole new printer because it comes with ink, than it is to buy replacement cartridges).  With the Philips Senseo coffee maker, you have to buy their special coffee pods to get the full benefit.  Or, you can order a permanent coffee pad for Senseo from the Netherlands for €18.95 and see if that works out for you.  The advantage (aside from price) is that you can put in exactly what coffee you like best and still get the benefit of the layer of creamy wonderfulness that the senseo maker pours lusciously onto your morning cuppa.  And hopefully, unlike other home Senseoremedies, it won't explode, as, apparently, is possible - as indicated after the jump.

If you try to make your own Senseo pad, and go about it foolishly, the repercussions are not limited to:

•  Cutting yourself with the scissors
•  Dropping the iron on your feet
•  Detergents your in coffee
•  Graphite in your coffee
•  Making everyone sick
•  Starting a fire by ironing the paper too hot or too long
•  All of the above
•  Awful coffee
•  A pad and lid that explode open, spouting scalding hot water and coffee grounds in every direction
•  A machine that doesn’t produce anything at all, a lid that is solidly locked down

Indeed!  [GT]
