Linen, beech and coconut laundry basket
New at Nigel's Eco Store is a very thin, sleek-looking laundry basket made of linen and beech with a jute and coconut fastener. It would fit nicely in any unoccupied corner - 580mm when assembled - and compacts for easy storage - 750 mm, and about 80 mm diameter when disassembled. Not only this, but it's completely biodegradeable - far more so than most products. How so, you ask?
You can, when it gets too decrepit to use any more, just toss it in the compost or bury it in your garden, whereupon it will gracefully provide one final service of giving new nutrients to your lawn or veggies. (Nigel's notes that since this is a new product it might take a little while longer than usual to ship.) £55. [GT]

Great article.
