I keep mentioning how we love the Solio and it sure is cute, but suppose you want to power something a little heftier, like a DVD player that you have in your hiking backpack, then you want a Sunlinq roll-up solar panel. Comes in sheets of 6.5, 12 or 24 panels at about a half kilo each. Weatherproof, UV resistant, flexible - can be mounted on curved surfaces - can be chained together to create a bigger solar panel area, and can be attached to coats or backpacks if you want to improvise up a solar backpack of your own.
The Sunlinq folds up neatly "into a planner-size pack that fits virtually anywhere including backpacks, glove boxes, purses, cargo pant pockets". It also has a bunch of attachments for charging batteries (requires an additional charger), cell phones, digital cameras, digital video cameras, mp3 players, portable video games, PDAs and the aforementioned portable DVD players. So if you feel the urge to go lie in a sunny meadow and watch Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid with yr best guy, you can be sure of not running out of juice. £85.00 for the 6.5 watt model from the Green Shop. --[GT]

Many thanks for turning me on to the Sunlinq Folding Solar Power Panel. Now I can properly turn on and tune out without wasting a lot batteries or ever having to call the auto club with a dead battery.
I am really looking forward to reading more about the prducts on your blog! As someone who consumes far too much already, I am always looking for "greener" gifts and pastures. Again, thank you! Oh, and I mentioned you on a site I blog on, www.thisnext.com/blog. So... blog on, dude.
