An Inconvenient Truth nears theatres

060519_gore_hmed_6ahmediumSecretly, boys and girls, I had a huge crush on Al Gore back in his robot days. (I was a replicant.)  Then he kinda let the 2000 election slide and I was one heartbroken little Canadian.  (Y'all will be happy to know I've found love again and if he runs for president I'll make sure he gets elected and inaugurated.)  And of Al Gore, none of us gave much more than a passing grumble.  Surely we didn't expect him to become... a movie star.

Gore's documentary An Inconvenient Truth opens across America on May 24, but meanwhile you'll have to be happy with this Grist-derived interview from MSNBC (politics indeedy makes strange bedfellows).    Or you can watch the trailer at YouTube.  There are some complaints that the film is a bit superficial, but even so, when was the last time you saw a frickin' global warming documentary open in conventional theatres? (Or right, last year.) [GT]
