Wondering where to go to recycle paper? What about compost? (Although if you're composting you probably want it for yourself, but it's the thought that counts.) Go to the Recycle-more recycle bank locator, punch in your street name (if you're in London), your place name (if you're in most of the rest of Great Britain) or your post code (if you're in Northern Ireland), and it pops up a whopping list of locations with a nice little map indicating where they all are and what they take. But that's not all!
The site also includes a bunch of statistics and discussion forums on recycling glass, plastic, aluminum, steel, wood and more. There's material for teachers and students who want to do recycling-related activities. There's legal information for businesses on the upcoming WEEE waste-reduction directives (which, apparently, a lot of UK companies are not ready for. But worth a visit if only to find out where you can safety finally pitch that set of dead watch batteries you've had stashed in the back of the drawer for lack of knowing what else to ethically do with them.
