Gale & Snowden are putting together a set of ecological kit houses that you can put together yourself or have somebody drop down fully assembled on the lot of your choice. They're modular to the point where if you want a bigger house, just buy another one and clamp it in - like Lego, only something you'd want to live in after age five. They're sustainably produced and built to have minimal offgas. Options allow rain collection and indoor gardening.
You can also integrate perma gardening, so you can grow your own food, recycle your waste into fertilizer, and set up your own little herb garden. Sorry, no price yet on what these beauties will cost.
If you're not satisfied with the interiors Gale & Snowden offer, there's always Beachcomber in Devon. Tim and Cheryl build tables, shelves, beds, and even entire kitchens out of reclaimed timber. Each piece is original and hand-built.
