Green policy for Boden fans

R_wk317 The mail order company Boden is the popular choice for many modern women (and men) who have little time or interest in dragging their children around the shops on a wet weekend.  The clothes are bright and breezy and the catalogue pictures evoke images of your ideal day  - from a brisk beach walk to a fun family picnic.  My very unscientific research of local Boden women, is that they eat quality organic food and make the most of the nature around us (unless they drive a 4x4 on the school run).  Why is it then that they (Boden or their shopper's) haven't embraced organic and fair trade clothing? I am still on the search for ethical equivalents (try Komodo or Seasalt) but for now will have to satisfy myself with Boden's current environmental policy.  This includes the comprehensive recycling of waste and the use of recycled paper/ high percentage recycled cardboard boxes. Mr Johnnie Boden himself cycles to work and all his staff are encouraged to do so. The catalogues are made from PEFC certified paper from accredited paper mills and this is going to be reviewed (recycled paper would be nice).  Fabric mills and garment factories must comply with local environment regulations and no EU restricted chemicals/substances are used in clothing manufacture.  Boden are looking into organic/fair trade cotton for future use - what are you waiting for Johnnie?
