Spinning a recycled yarn

Home spun style is hip, so if you are interested in knitting and crafting, then consider using recycled Himalayan sari yarn.  The beautiful yarn in bright jewel colours is available through the ebay shop, Colourspun Yarns.  The seller, Mrs Munro, traded in a jetset lifestyle as an international sweater and embroidery designer for a quieter existence, growing organic veggies, recycling and renovating a 200 year old cottage. She also sells recycled rayon yarn (prices vary), known as ‘veggie silk’, which is handspun in the villages of Nepal from waste threads that are collected from the industrial weaving mills of India. I have proudly knitted a recycled sari scarf – about the sum of my skills! Greenfibres also sell a great range of organic wool, fabric and raw materials. [Ella]
