The catch is that it won't be here 'til early 2007, but that didn't stop me from spluttering with excitement into my Green & Blacks organic cocoa (made with organic Manor Farm milk, naturally) when I read about this. There are virtually zilcho details but the score is thus: it's going to be run by Whole Foods who own Fresh & Wild, will cover 75,000 square foot (that's Sainsburys-big) and employ up to 500 people. Whole Foods promises to 'procure foods from local growers.. [and] become an integral part of the community by sponsoring events, donating food and money to local causes... [and] save the good citizens of Kensington and Chelsea from eating low-grade, non-artisan bread'. Spotter's prize for which bit is a fabrication. Whole Foods press release [via City Hippy]

Are there many organic growers local to Kensington? ;)
I look forward to it!
