No Waste Like Home
At 8.30 on a Friday night I'm presuming you're out drinking organic ale or ethical water in a watering hole, so set those VCRs and Sky+s to record BBC Two at 8.30 next week - the Beeb's got a new eco home show called No Waste Like Home. The premise is essentially Hippyshopper meets How Clean is Your House?, except instead of Kim and Aggie advising borderline OCD cleaning, it features the jolly Penny Poyzer (pictured) doling out energy saving tips to wasteful homeowners. The series is accompanied by a book later this month - which I'll be running a review on shortly - plus a useful website with tips, links and a virtual house.

I had the pleasure of spending a weekend at Penney's eco-house in Nottingham recently and can tell you, she is one switched on eco-chick!
She tells it like it is and has changed her regular, Victorian semi into a fantastic example of green without fuss. The changes she has made, anybody could do and have no visual impact at all, but a HUGE impact to the environment.
So, heed all the Poyzer has to offer - I suspect we are going to be seeing a lot of her.
