First ever wind-up DAB radio

Freeplay_devoEveryone loves a good world first, especially an eco one such as the world's first wind-up FM and DAB digital radio. That's right, crank lovers, you can now join the choice-filled world of digital and listen to Planet Rock, XFM and the BBC's rather brilliant digital stations. The Freeplay Devo, as this smart little green machine is known, goes on sale on October. I'l post stockist info as soon as it's available. There's some very limited info available here. Update: Battery life's 6 hours on full power, a 60 second crank gives 3 minutes of DAB, it'll cost £100 and you'll be able to buy it from John Lewis.

Flippineck! 1 minute of cranking gives only 3 minutes of power? If I get one of those my arm and wrist will be as muscular as, um, as they were when I was sixteen.
