Ecover discovers the bathroom

Ecocover_shower_gelAnd another first for you - Ecover's just started making toiletries for the bathroom. Yes, the people whose washing-up liquid you buy because it's gentle, eco-friendly and chem-free now want to make your body clean. In what's presumably an effort to cut down on packaging, the first product is a huge bottle that contains 5 litres of plant-based shower gel. The main ingredients are lavender and aloe vera, and sensitive skin types will be glad to note the parfum is derived from plants instead of a lab. It's also described as having an "optimum level of biodegradibility" and apparently has the Vegan Society's seal of approval. I would tell you more, but Ecover oddly has no mention of the product on its site. You can try for yourself by paying £40 at Ecotopia, which also sells these superb recycled glass beer goblets.

Hi Adam

Nice one for pointing this out...I found some accidentally in a waitrose somewhere a while back and tested it and it was awesome!

The lavendar smell is great and it is a very good soft shower gel albeit a less foamy one than the over chemical'd lot. A slightly reduced foam is not much of a price to pay though for eco piece of mind.

ECOVER RULES! Have a post about them going up tomorrow to be honest...just about how eco friendly they are. You will be amazed at what I found out.

Namaste

We tried out their shower gel last year (it was in a standard sized bottle). Only problem was my wife hates the smell of it. It's probably one of the few things I won't be able to convince her on. Pity, I love all of their products.
