Live8 Unplugged

Summitfront200x200If you were lucky enough to get Hyde Park Live8 tickets, you're going to have a blast. I've always wanted to see Annie Lennox Paul McCartney live. For everyone else, there's the Beeb's all-day radio coverage. Of course, your current FM tuner will do fine, but if you're in need of a new radio, they don't come more fitting than this solar and wind-up-powered one. It's called the Summit Multiband and made by Freeplay, the Trevor Bayliss-inspired company whose original aim was to help Africans who didn't have an electricity supply to enjoy radio (and the news, education and music that comes with one). Fully-charged, it'll go for 20 hours - enough to get you through today's entire running order. It's £60 from CAT, or you can pick up the cheaper Ranger one from Argos this morning for a bargain £35.
