Slightly bad news to start the day with. It transpires that Apple's much-talked about iPod recycling scheme only applies to US Apple stores. If you can get to one of those, you can have your iPod, iPod Mini and iPod Photo (not Shuffle) recycled and get a 10 per cent discount into the bargain. If, however, your closest store is the Bullring or London, you're stuffed. The best recycling Apple offer in the UK at the moment is to recycle the box your iMac came in. Which is nice, except even Hackney council will do that for you. I'm pestering Apple UK to see when this is going to change. Update: I've pestered, and Apple's current line is that "we don't have any confirmation of proposed recycling activity in the UK." Odd. Especially when the UK government is on such a big recycling push.
