Toothpaste-free solar toothbrush

SoladeyBelieve it or not, the Soladey is an actual product you can buy rather than a figment of fantasy from our warped imagination. The idea is that the brush cleans your teeth without toothpaste. Apparently the titanium rod in the brush creates negative ions when hit by light (artificial or natural). Those negative ions then attract the positively charged bits of food and plaque on your teeth - which is essentially the same way Fluoride in toothpaste works. From our experience of the brushes, the Soladey does seem to do the job. The only bad bit is that it leaves a slightly metallic taste in your mouth and the heads are a touch small. We're going to track down someone at the UK Dental Practice Board this week to see if they endorse ionic toothbrushes. If they do, then this is one very viable and eco-friendly alternative to electric toothbrushes and Fluroide toothpaste. It costs £12.50 for one Soladey in the UK.

Sadly, no. I chased them and another British dental body. I need to chase them up.

I would value any follow up you might have by now on this product
